Andro cultural complex, Manipur

The beautiful Andro village is located at around 25km away from Imphal, capital of Manipur.  A model cultural complex has been set up here that showcases the rich tribal culture of Manipur. Andro village is also famous for pottery. My friend Bhashan was kind enough to explain in detail about different tribes – Meeteis, Nagas and Kukuis being the largest ones. Traditional houses of these tribes are setup here and inside these houses a wide variety of tribal musical instruments, cooking utilities and many other artifacts are displayed.

There is a doll museum where each doll couple is dressed up in traditional tribal dress.  I was also lucky to meet Mutua Bahadur, the brain behind this project.
