Carbon rich breakfast at Tripura

A quick breakfast while travelling to Unakoti, Tripura.  This was the first time I had breakfast served on newspaper. I am pretty sure it was rich in carbon.



Back in my place Kerala, Sadya (traditional rice meals) is served on banana leaf but its rising cost and unavailability led at least some of the restaurant owners to opt for banana leaves made of recycled paper ;-).  Newspapers take the role of tissue papers in small tea stalls. It is also widely used to wrap food when we ask for “parcel” at restaurants but are never used to serve food.
