27th February 2014: Arriving at Jammu on Maha Shivaratri day (though unintentionally) for sightseeing was a bad idea. All the attractions except the temples were closed as it was a public holiday. Security was beefed up at all the major temples which were crowded with devotees. The Jammu city was in a festive mood with loudspeakers screaming devotional songs and prasad distribution at each and every lane.
