Photos: Oldest Hindu temple in Singapore– Sri Mariamman Kovil

Aptly located in the heart of Singapore’s cultural hotspot, this temple is one of the must visit attractions of the Island nation. The architecture is based on Dravidian style (South Indian). The vivid colors of this temple compliments the bustling Chinatown.

  1. I remember the first time I saw a Tamil temple in Kuala Lumpur I was so fascinated by its vivid colors and intricate details. Four years later I found myself exploring Tamil Nadu’s towering gopurams! This post reminds me of those travels.

  2. Vivid photos bringing back my Singapore stay memories. Near the temple there’s a huge bustling market. The central photo with puja utensils and coconut /mango leaves preparation is a good one.
